Abstract: The main goal of a future Electron Ion Collider (EIC) is to lead the development of the fundamental theory of strong interactions known as QCD. The EIC would be distinguished from all past, current, and contemplated facilities around the world by being at intensity frontier with versatile range of kinematics and beam polarizations, as well as beam species. One of the physics cases of EIC in US is eRHIC, which was proposed to be built at Brookhaven National Laboratory, will deliver electron-nucleon luminosity of 1033 -1034 cm-2 sec-1 for collisions of polarized electron and protons and heavy ions over a wide range in center-of-mass energies (29 GeV to 141 GeV). I will present an experimental overview of physics topics eRHIC can address.
The considerations relevant to jet studies at an EIC will be discussed, specifically, we analyze (un)polarized photon PDFs in events applying a di-jet method. The resolved processes can be tagged, one can extract the (un)polarized photon PDFs by measuring the di-jet cross section. A tagging method is used to probe the flavor of the parton content of the photon experimentally. Finally, I present the latest results on proton PDFs extracted by a global fit at an EIC.
