Seminar abstract:
This talk provides an overview of the latest progress in accelerator research at IHEP. The presentation covers BEPCII operation and CEPC R&D, the construction progress of the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS), and the research on beam-driven plasma acceleration. BEPCII is the only e+e- collider ever built and operated in China. The machine is currently operating stably and maintaining high luminosity. The CEPC aims to be a world-leading Higgs factory, and its physical design allows for one of the highest luminosities in the world. Key technology studies have been carried out, and the HEPS construction also supports technology preparation for CEPC. In addition to e+e- collider studies, IHEP is also focused on multidisciplinary studies. The HEPS is under construction, which will be the first 4th generation light source in China. Important milestones have been achieved, including the successful beam commissioning of the 500MeV linac and the 6GeV booster. Plasma acceleration technology has the potential to revolutionize accelerators due to its super-high gradient. IHEP is currently conducting plasma acceleration studies, specifically funded by CAS. The research is focused on beam-driven technology known as PWFA.

Short bio/introduction of speaker:
The speaker received his PhD from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2006. After completing his doctorate, he pursued post-doctoral studies at the Institute of DESY in Germany, where he focused on designing and optimizing the undulator system at the European XFEL. From 2010 to 2020, Yuhui Li worked as scientific staff member at the European XFEL, which is the first hard XFEL facility driven by a superconducting linac. In those years, Yuhui Li designed, constructed, and commissioned the undulator system. Since 2020, Yuhui Li has worked at the Institute of High Energy Physics. He is involved in various projects, including serving as a convener for the CEPC accelerator and coordinating efforts to complete the TDR study. He is also leading the undulator R&D and mass production for HEPS. Additionally, Yuhui Li is involved in studies related to PWFA plasma acceleration.
