USTC campus

Since 1970, USTC located in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province. It is a scientific and educational city and boasts of many talents both past and present, such as the famous upright officer Lord Bao in Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127) along with the Nobel Prize for Physics winner, Yang Zhenning, whose hometown is Hefei.

USTC has five campuses: East, South, West, North and Center Campus. The campuses cover an area of 1.46 million square metres (360 acres), with 890,000 square metres (9,600,000 sq ft) of building area.

The Department of Modern Physics is located on the main campus. On its extensive territory there are all the necessary conditions for a comfortable stay. At the disposal of students and staff of the university are numerous canteens with various cuisines, cafes, shops, a hospital, a gym and sports grounds. Also, near the territory there are numerous shopping centers, cafes and restaurants. University secretaries are happy to help newcomers and answer all their questions.

Hefei itself is a tourist place with a well-developed transport system and many attractions. With numerous parks, museums, parks, historical and cultural sites it also has good surroundings - the Huaihe River flows to its north, to its south is Yangtze River, and to its south- east lies the Chaohu Lake with its expansive blue waters.
