摘要:

The energy-momentum tensor (EMT) encodes the distributions and flow of energy and momentum in hadrons, matrix elements of which are parametrized in terms of Lorentz-invariant functions called gravitational form factors (GFFs). By obtaining these GFFs, one can reconstruct many coveted properties of hadrons, including mass and spin decompositions and possible measures of the hadron's size (mass and mechanical radii), as well as anisotropic stresses felt by quarks and gluons. I will explain the formalism and physical interpretation of the GFFs using simple phenomenological parametrizations, largely focusing on a light front perspective, and will mention several open questions surrounding the EMT and GFFs.

报告人简介:

Adam Freese received his Ph.D. in 2016 from Florida International University, United States, working under Misak Sargsian, with his dissertation focused on short-distance correlations and the EMC effect. From 2016-2020, he was a postdoc at Argonne National Laboratory with a focus on generalized parton distributions. Dr. Freese has been a postdoc at University of Washington since late 2020, where he has been largely focusing on gravitational form factors.
