摘要
The seminar presents the search for the Higgs boson decay to a pair of muons performed by the CMS experiment, based on the full Run 2 dataset. Events are categorized based on the characteristics of major Higgs boson production mechanisms. Employing novel analysis techniques, the category targeting the vector boson fusion production mechanism is the most sensitive. A 3.0σ excess is observed in data, constituting the first evidence for the Higgs boson coupling to muons.
